UniProtKB description:  Encapsidates the genome in a ratio of one N per nine ribonucleotides, protecting it from nucleases (PubMed:16778022, PubMed:20133572, PubMed:29437970, PubMed:35970826, PubMed:36216930). The encapsidated genomic RNA is termed the NC and serves as template for transcription and replication (PubMed:21177817). The nucleocapsid is bullet-shaped with the tip containing 8 turns of a conical spiral before reaching the helical cylindrical trunk (PubMed:35476516). Nucleocapsid assembly is concomitant with replication, therefore viral replication depends on the intracellular concentration of free N, termed N(0). All replicative products are resistant to nucleases.
