Interested in "seeing" biomolecular structures in 3D? Join this webinar and learn how to use Mol* from RCSB.org. The tool is freely available online, so you will not need to download or install any software.

Visualize Biomolecular structures with Mol*: From Atoms to Movies

Tuesday, February 13 at 1:00pm - 2:00pm ET | 10:00am -11:00am PT

Participation is free, but registration is required.

Learning Objectives

  • Visualize 3D structural data (experimentally determined structures from RCSB.org and/or computed structure models from RCSB.org or other sources such as AlphaFold)
  • Select all or parts of the 3D structure (display in different representations, colors, and more; analyze interactions;
  • measure distances and angles within and between proteins, nucleic acids, and other molecules)
  • Map information to available structures (e.g., functional features, mutations)
  • Superimpose structures of same protein in different conformations and/or similar proteins to compare features
  • Export publication quality images and animations for videos

Who Should Attend

Professionals, researchers, educators, and students interested in interactively exploring 3D structural data to understand their function in

  • Bioinformatics
  • Biology
  • Cheminformatics and computational chemistry or biology
  • Chemistry
  • Structural biology
