This entry describes the domain 4 in Leukemia inhibitory factor regulator (LIFR) and other type I cytokine receptors found in mammals. They are involved in signal transduction for various cytokines, playing crucial roles in immune response, hematopoiesis, and development. LIFR extracellular region is composed of D1-D2 (Pfam:PF17971) which is a cytokine binding homology region (CHR) followed by an Ig-like domain D3 (Pfam:PF21177), another CHR region composed of D4 and D5 [1-2] and three membrane-proximal fibronectin type-III (FNIII) domains (Pfam:PF00041).
