G-Protein Coupled Receptors
In honor of the 2012 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
The
2012 Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded jointly to Robert J. Lefkowitz and Brian K. Kobilka
for studies of G-protein-coupled receptors. The PDB holds many GPCRs, such as Kobilka's groundbreaking structure of the beta2 adrenergic receptor-Gs protein complex shown on this commemorative flyer (
PDF).
To learn more about GPCRs, see the Molecule of the Month articles on Adrenergic Receptors and G Proteins, and the Author Profile for Brian Kobilka.
